Learn Who We Are

  • Dr.
    Miranda Logan Logan

Dr. Logan graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College with a B.Sc. in Animal Science in 1996 and earned her DVM in 2000 from the Atlantic Veterinary College in Charlottetown, P.E.I. She has been practicing in Okotoks since May 2000 and opened the Foothills Animal Hospital as the Owner/Veterinarian in May 2004.

She grew up in Otterbrook, Nova-Scotia surrounded by animals. Her mother, Heather A. Logan, ran  Cloverfield Kennels for 35+ years. This was a boarding kennel for 50 dogs and a breeding kennel of Labrador Retrievers. Dr. Logan has been training dogs since 1980 for competition obedience and conformation. Since 1992, she has been using operant conditioning – behaviour analysis (a.k.a. clicker training) on dogs as well as a number of other species (llamas, miniature donkeys, horses, goats, tigers, giraffes, grizzly bears and chickens).

Her Whippet Fitz comes to work with her every day.  His jobs include: demonstrating clicker training, working with dogs with mental health disorders, testing new toys and cuddling with anyone who needs a hug.

  • PJ Thomson
    RVT, Practice Manager

PJ grew up on a Ranch in British Columbia and graduated with honors from the Olds College Animal Health Technology program in 2004. She worked in Calgary before joining the Foothills Animal Hospital as a Registered Veterinary Technician in 2007. In addition to her role as RVT, PJ is also the Practice Manager at the Hospital.  Her fur kids include 2 DSH’s named Annie and Brandon, and a rescue dog named Riley.

  • Claire M
Assistant, Director of Medical Services - On Maternity Leave!

Claire moved from England in 2008. She had previous work experience at a vet clinic in Okotoks when she came to us. She decided she wanted to take the opportunity to do what she loves and joined the team at Foothills Animal Hospital in 2011 as a Veterinary Assistant. After a number of years working with us Claire became our Director of Medical Services. Claire loves spending her day meeting families and building relationships with them and their four legged family members. Claire loves spending time with her four legged friends, Zero the German Shepherd and Lenny her crazy Cat.

  • Heather C
    Front Desk

Heather moved from Calgary to Okotoks in 2006 to start her family. Her job path has primarily been retail where she was fortunate to grow within that career. However she has always had a passion for administrative work and is so excited and fortunate to be apart of the Foothills Animal Hospital team. She has a love for all animals, particularly cats, which comes from always having a cat as part of her family. Chloe is her feisty, but loving cat who she adores along with her two kids. In her free time you can find her watching TV, going on evening walks, or spending time with her family.

  • Madison M
    Assistant - On Maternity Leave!

Madison grew up in Okotoks, Alberta. After spending a couple years abroad, she moved back and is currently attending University to pursue a career in Veterinary medicine. In her spare time Madison loves to go to the gym and go on adventures with her dog Nala.

  • Janae C
    RVT

Janae grew up in small towns and eventually found herself in Calgary. She attended U of A and got a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health before going to NAIT to become an RVT. During her career, she has worked in general practices and emergency clinics and loves it all! Her favourite part of the job is connecting with the clients and helping provide the best care for their fur babies. Janae is a very passionate RVT who loves to share her knowledge with her team mates and our clients. Outside of work she likes reading, musicals, road trips and camping. Janae has three cats named Ginny, Link, and Junimo.
